My husband and I started attending Sardis Community Church in 1974 when we were meeting at the Vedder Junior High School across the street from our current building. We were about 60 people at that time and we were accepted lovingly. After a year or so we took part in the building of the church, doing carpentry and painting etc. It was a real joy working together.
I think the reason I’m still attending here today is, that people are more important than things, programs & or buildings. The message goes out loud and clear every Sunday and during the week too, that our relationship to God should come first and then our relationship to our family, others in church, our neighbourhood and around the world. Christ should be at the centre of our life. Jesus gave his life for me and everyone in the world and that is what I feel is being taught here. We are not perfect at church, but our aim is to know Christ, love each other and serve, making Christ known around the world. With the Lords helps I try to live this out where I live, at the Lynnwood. There are many opportunities where I can encourage or help someone that is lonely or in poor health. All of my dear family is very caring and I see them often. I have much to be thankful for and the Lord has always been faithful to us. His grace & strength sees me through every day. It is new every morning! Great is thy faithfulness!
